The Mac app

The desktop app is the same ClockedFlow in a window, plus two things only a Mac can do: a timer in the menu bar, and an add-on that records the time Claude Code spends in your repositories.

Installing

Download the build for your Mac (Apple Silicon or Intel; macOS 11 and later), open the disk image and drag ClockedFlow into Applications.

Settings → Desktop → Menu bar keeps the running timer in the macOS menu bar, even with the window closed. The popover shows the session's clock, project and to-do, and has the same controls as the record screen:

  • Start a session on any project;
  • Pause, Resume and End;
  • Take a break for 5, 10, 15 or 30 minutes: the session is held and the popover counts the break down.

The menu bar follows the shared session, so it can pause what the phone started. It never runs a Pomodoro of its own; the breaks a Pomodoro takes show in it like any other.

Open at login starts the app with your Mac so the menu bar is there from the first minute of the day.

The Claude Code add-on

Settings → Add-ons → Claude Code tracks the time Claude Code spends working in your repositories, as sessions on the matching project. It reads Claude Code's own transcripts on this Mac to work out when Claude was working; nothing about what it was doing leaves the machine.

  1. Give a project a folder on its page: the repository's path. Only work inside a project's folder is ever recorded; everything else Claude does is ignored.
  2. Pick how to merge prompts: one entry per prompt, or prompts closer together than 5, 10, 15 or 30 minutes joined into one session.
  3. The add-on's page shows the projects with folders and what Claude has done in each this week.

Sessions it records carry a spark icon on the calendar and in Insights, so they're always distinguishable from the ones you pressed Start for, and they are billed like any other session on the project.

Server

Settings → Desktop → Server is the ClockedFlow server the app syncs with. You'll never need to change it unless you're running your own. Changing it signs you out and reloads.

The window and the web app

The window is the web app, built into the Mac app. Anything you learn in one applies in the other, and both are updated together.
